2011 Payne Phalen Neighborhood Spring Clean Up:

Our
biannual clean-up provides an opportunity for residents of District Five to
enjoy this City-subsidized effort to
rid homes and neighborhoods of unwanted items and to recycle as
much as possible!
RRT Resouce Recovery (formerly NRG) has been the clean up location in recent years. We are currently looking for a new clean up site.
Location: Old Hamm's Brewery Parking Lot, 680 Minnehaha (between Payne and Arcade)
To participate you must reside in District 5 and bring a valid ID.
District 5 is located east of I-35E, south of
Larpenteur Ave., north
of
Grove St.
and West of the Bruce Vento
Regional Trail (formerly the Burlington-Northern Railroad). See Map of District Five
Clean up fees can be paid with cash only. The costs below are from 2010 and are subject to change. Most loads will
require the following fees. Additional fees will be charged for specific items.
Small loads (car)-$8
Medium load (station wagon, minivan, sport utility)-$15
Large Load (pickups or trailers)-$20
Additional Fees:
Air
Conditioners-$20
Large Furniture (ie. Couch)-$5
Large Console TVs-depending on size-$15-$20
Each Appliance (Includes Stoves, Refrigerators, Washers, Dryers)-$10
TVs and Computer Monitors-$10
Mattress or Box Spring-$5
VCR, Printers, Stereos-$5
Cell Phones will be accepted for recycling at NO CHARGE
Tires: $3 per car tire, $5 per truck tire, $15 per tractor tire
Also accepted
at Clean Up:
Fluorescent Lights, Scrap Metal, Demolition Debris, Concrete/Rocks,
Clean Wood, Bicycles.
Bring reusable
household items in good condition that
you no longer want. Drop them off at no charge. All reusable goods will
go to designated local charities. Items such as household goods,
furniture, toys bikes and building materials will be accepted.
We do not accept:
Batteries, chemicals, any hazardous waste, oil or paint. Drop
these items off at the Ramsey Co. Hazardous Waste drop-off site: Bay
West, 5 Empire Dr., Saint
Paul (between
Rice and Jackson Streets, just north of Pennsylvania Avenue, near the State Capitol). Call (651) 633-EASY (3279).
Yard Waste: (grass clippings, leaves, brush): Free drop off at
Yard Waste Processing site at Frank Street and Sims
Avenue. Get a map
at the clean-up! We will not accept general household garbage.

Help your neighbors on the day of the clean up. Registered volunteers
get one free
clean-up drop-off and a complimentary lunch. Please
